FAQ
Questions we're asked often.
Couldn't I build a calculator with ChatGPT or Claude?
Absolutely. AI has made it incredibly easy to create basic calculators, quizzes and forms. Kalculate is designed for businesses that need more than the basic build. We work with you to understand the decision, validate the calculations and logic, create the customer journey, apply your brand, consider security and data handling, connect useful information into your business systems and design what should happen after the result. AI makes us faster too. Our value isn’t typing the code. It’s knowing what needs to be built and turning it into a business system you can confidently put in front of your customers.
Is Kalculate secure?
Security is part of our product standard, not an afterthought. The exact controls depend on what your tool does, what information it collects and which systems it connects to. We design products around appropriate database security, permissions, authentication, data minimisation, integration access and visibility over how AI is used. We will also clearly explain the security and data-handling approach for your particular product rather than making generic claims that don’t apply to every build.
Where is customer information stored?
This depends on the architecture and integrations used for your particular Kalculate product. Before launch, we can document what information is collected, where it is stored, who can access it and which external systems receive it.
Does Kalculate use AI?
Some Kalculate products may use AI for appropriate tasks such as summarisation, interpretation or generating personalised explanations. We don’t use AI where a deterministic calculation or business rule should be used instead. Important calculations remain calculations. Business rules remain controlled. Where AI contributes to an important output, our direction is to make that use transparent and support human review where appropriate.
Does AI train itself on my customer data?
We do not design Kalculate products around uncontrolled self-learning. Where feedback, corrections and outcomes are captured, they can be stored as structured information for review and future improvement. Changes to important business logic should be deliberate, versioned and governed.
Can it integrate with HubSpot?
Yes, depending on the requirements of the project. The important difference is that we don’t want to simply dump another form submission into HubSpot. Kalculate can structure the information so your team can see the customer’s situation, result, priorities, intent and recommended next action.
Do I need to replace my existing CRM?
No. Our preference is to make the systems you already use more useful rather than unnecessarily replacing them.
Is this just a lead-generation tool?
It can be. But Kalculate can also support customer guidance, assessments, reporting, internal workflows, advisory processes, client portals, progress tracking and ongoing customer journeys.
Can you build something completely custom?
Yes, but we start with the business problem rather than the feature list. Sometimes the right solution is a simple calculator. Sometimes it is an assessment. Sometimes it is a more complete digital decision system. We recommend the simplest system that solves the problem properly.
What does it cost?
Every project is different because the complexity behind the decision is different. A straightforward calculator is very different from a system containing custom calculations, assessment logic, personalised reports, CRM integrations, AI-supported recommendations and ongoing workflows. We’ll scope the solution with you before we build.
Who owns my business knowledge?
Your proprietary business information remains yours. Where Kalculate brings its own platform components, reusable architecture or methodologies into a project, those remain part of Kalculate’s underlying technology and intellectual property. We make those boundaries clear as part of the project.
What happens after launch?
We don’t think launch should be the end. Depending on your plan, Kalculate can help monitor how the tool is being used, identify friction, review recommendations, track outcomes and improve the customer journey over time.
Your business already knows the answers.
Let’s turn that knowledge into something your customers can use. If your team repeatedly explains the same thing, calculates the same thing, qualifies the same enquiries or helps customers make the same complicated decision, there is probably a Kalculate opportunity sitting inside your business.
